Ramazzini Hospital launches specialized oncological menopause program
The 'Sguardo' project, a multidisciplinary medical pathway dedicated to oncological menopause, has treated 41 patients at the Ramazzini Hospital in Carpi since its launch in April 2025. The initiative focuses on managing the side effects of breast cancer treatments, specifically the genitourinary syndrome caused by estrogen deprivation during endocrine therapy.
With an average patient age of 45, the program is one of the few public health clinics in Italy providing such specialized care. Data indicates that 37 of the treated patients have already completed follow-up assessments three to six months after their initial visits, reporting high levels of satisfaction with the care received. In the province of Modena, the survival rate for breast cancer has reached 94% due to early diagnosis and effective treatments.
