Rambagh Railway Station flooded in Prayagraj due to heavy rain
Heavy rainfall in Prayagraj has caused severe flooding at the Rambagh Railway Station, submerging platforms 1, 2, and 3 under more than three feet of water. The flooding has disrupted train operations on the Varanasi-Howrah route, leading to several cancellations and rescheduling.
Due to the tracks being submerged, some trains have been diverted to platform 5, while others are being operated from Jhunsi instead of Rambagh. Railway administration has deployed pumping sets to clear the water from the tracks, but the process is ongoing. Additionally, a broken boundary wall at a nearby railway colony has allowed more water to flow onto the tracks, complicating drainage efforts. Passengers are facing significant delays and uncertainty as authorities work to restore normal operations.
