Ramen chains expand in Japan with new openings in Kawagoe and Kyoto
A new Nagi‑chan ramen outlet is under interior renovation at the Claire Mall shopping centre in Kawagoe, Saitama. Construction began on 21 July 2026 and is scheduled to continue until 4 September 2026, after which the restaurant will open to customers.
Separately, a ramen chain founded in Kyoto is preparing to launch its 190th store in the Shimo‑Kyō district of Kyoto city. The opening is slated for 19 July 2026, adding another location to the chain’s nationwide footprint.
Both developments reflect ongoing expansion of ramen‑type restaurant concepts in Japan’s regional markets.
