Ramen VR to shut down Zenith servers in December

Ramen VR has announced that the servers for its VR MMORPG, Zenith, will officially go offline at 10:00 AM PST on Friday, December 18, 2026. The studio confirmed that no offline version or community-hosted servers are planned for the title.

The shutdown follows a period of financial instability and declining player retention. While the game initially raised $280,000 via Kickstarter and later secured $35 million in Series B funding, it became unsustainable despite a transition to a free-to-play model. In July 2024, the studio ceased all new content updates.

As part of the wind-down process, sales of the premium currency, Zennies, and the paid expansion, Zenith: The Last City, ended on October 21. New players can download the free client until November 18, after which the game will no longer be available for download. Existing players will retain access until the December shutdown. The studio has not provided information regarding refunds for unspent premium currency or the paid expansion.
