Ramón Ayala announces major concert in Mexico City

Renowned regional Mexican music icon Ramón Ayala, known as the ‘King of the Accordion’, has announced a major concert at the Plaza de Toros La México in Mexico City on October 10. The event celebrates his career of over 72 years and more than 113 long-play albums.

During a press conference, the 80-year-old musician addressed his future, noting that while retirement is a topic of conversation, he does not feel ready to leave the stage. The upcoming performance is expected to feature guest appearances, including potential participation from Eduin Caz of Grupo Firme, and a performance by his grandson, Christopher. Ayala also plans to debut the song ‘El milagrito’, a gift from Marco Antonio Solís.

Ayala also touched upon his health, mentioning he is managing his condition with medication and experiencing some physical challenges, such as leg weakness. Additionally, when questioned about ongoing legal allegations involving his son, Ramón Ayala Jr., in the United States, Ayala and his band stated they could not comment on active legal proceedings, though both have denied the accusations.
