Ramón Ayala Jr. surrenders in Texas on sexual assault charges

Ramón Ayala Jr., son of the renowned regional Mexican singer Ramón Ayala, surrendered to authorities in Hidalgo County, Texas, following an arrest warrant for alleged sexual assault. The musician was processed for a second-degree felony charge related to an incident involving an individual identified as John Doe.

Ayala Jr. was released from custody after posting a $2,000 bond. This criminal proceeding is separate from ongoing civil lawsuits filed by three former members and employees of the musical group ‘Ramón Ayala y sus Bravos del Norte’. The civil claims, which seek over $25 million in damages, allege sexual abuse, harassment, intimidation, and labor mistreatment occurring during tours between 2024 and 2025.

The plaintiffs are represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, who stated that the criminal arrest represents a significant step toward justice. Conversely, defense attorney Ray Thomas has rejected the allegations, characterizing them as attempts at economic extortion and media manipulation. The legal process, including upcoming hearings, is ongoing.
