Ramón Jesurún cleared to seek re‑election as head of Colombia’s football federation
Colombia’s Ministry of Sport completed a verification process and confirmed that Ramón Jesurún and the members of the Executive Committee of the Federación Colombiana de Fútbol meet all legal and statutory requirements. The ministry’s approval removes doubts about Jesurún’s eligibility to remain president and allows him to run in the federation’s upcoming election.
Jesurún, who has led the FCF since November 2015, oversaw the national teams’ qualification for recent international tournaments and is now positioned to guide the organization through the next cycle, including preparations for the 2026 World Cup and the planning for the 2030 edition. The endorsement is intended to provide administrative stability for Colombian football at a crucial moment.
The decision does not guarantee re‑election; the FCF Assembly will decide the next president, but Jesurún is now formally permitted to submit his candidacy.
