Ramón Orlando celebrates 50 years of music with massive Santo Domingo concert
Dominican musician, arranger, and conductor Ramón Orlando celebrated 50 years of musical career with a massive concert at the Estadio Olímpico Félix Sánchez in Santo Domingo. Produced by EW Shows, the event drew approximately 50,000 attendees and lasted eight hours, running from 8:00 PM until 4:00 AM.
The concert featured a wide array of performers, including Juan Luis Guerra, Milly Quezada, Fernando Villalona, Sergio Vargas, and Elvis Crespo. Orlando shared the stage with his father, the legendary Cuco Valoy, and his son, Jura Valoy. The performance served as a tribute to the history of merengue, featuring nearly 90 songs and dozens of guest artists representing different generations of Dominican music.
Following the event, the Minister of Sports, Kelvin Cruz, confirmed that the stadium's green areas were being restored through technical maintenance within 72 hours, asserting that sports facilities can coexist with large-scale artistic events through proper protocols.
