Ramon Vega announces candidacy for FIFA presidency
Ramon Vega, a 55-year-old former Swiss footballer, has officially announced his candidacy for the presidency of FIFA. Vega, who previously played for clubs including Tottenham and Celtic, intends to challenge the incumbent, Gianni Infantino, at the elective assembly scheduled for March 18 in Rabat.
In an 11-page platform document, Vega proposes implementing an independent oversight system and enhancing financial transparency to ensure modern governance and accountability within the organization. To qualify, candidates must submit their names by November 18 and secure official backing from at least five affiliated federations.
