Ramones 50th anniversary celebrated by punk rock supergroup in Los Angeles

Punk rock musicians gathered at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles on August 30 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Ramones’ self-titled debut album. The event featured a performance by the newly formed supergroup Cretin Family, which includes Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, Travis Barker of Blink-182, Tim Armstrong of Rancid, and former Ramones bassist CJ Ramone.

The tribute set included various Ramones classics such as ‘Rockaway Beach’, ‘I Wanna Be Sedated’, and ‘Sheena Is a Punk Rocker’. Special guest appearances were made by Billy Idol, The Linda Lindas, and Fred Armisen. The event, hosted by actor John Travolta, raised proceeds to support David Agus MD Cancer Research at the Ellison Institute.
