Ramos Arizpe expands commerce with new shoe store and upgrades street lighting

The municipal government of Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, inaugurated a second Zapaterías FAMHI shoe store on Benito Juárez street. The outlet represents an investment of roughly 500,000‑600,000 pesos, is backed by entrepreneur Roberto Hinojosa López, and will create four direct jobs and about 100 indirect positions. Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino and the director of Economic Development, Jacobo Zertuche Cedillo, highlighted the opening as evidence of a favorable business climate supported by coordinated security efforts with state governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas.

In parallel, the city continued a municipal lighting‑maintenance program aimed at improving safety and quality of life in multiple neighborhoods. Crews repaired circuits, replaced components, and upgraded illumination in colonies such as Cactus, Villa Sol, Fidel Velázquez and others, as well as in public sports courts and community centers. The mayor emphasized that better street lighting contributes to a more secure environment for pedestrians and drivers alike.
