Ramos Arizpe expands senior support with civil document services and food baskets

The municipal DIF in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, coordinated with state agencies to hold a documentation drive at the senior‑center, processing more than 500 civil registry acts—including birth, marriage, divorce and death certificates—and issuing 150 free letters of no criminal record. The event also featured free animal‑health campaigns, training for self‑employment and other social‑service programs.

In a parallel effort, the town delivered 220 food baskets to vulnerable elderly residents as part of the DIF’s Alimentary Assistance Program. The mayor, Tomás Gutiérrez Merino, said the aid recognises seniors’ contributions to the community, while DIF honorary president Teresita Escalante Contreras stressed the continued commitment to improve nutrition, reduce household costs and enhance quality of life for older adults.
