Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez launches renovated Urbivilla plaza and community soccer fest in Ramos Arizpe

Ramos Arizpe mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino inaugurated a fully rehabilitated public plaza in the Urbivilla del Real neighborhood. The upgrade includes concrete sidewalks, palapas, sports courts, children's playgrounds, benches, waste bins, green areas and a modern lighting system, aiming to provide a safe and accessible gathering space for families. Gutiérrez emphasized that “this colony was not forgotten” and called on residents to care for and monitor the new facilities.

The municipal government also organized a “Ramos Soccer Fest” on the Alameda Miguel Ramos Arizpe, featuring a giant screen to broadcast Mexico’s World Cup round‑of‑16 match against England. The event offered free mechanical rides, contests, raffles, food and beverages, and a special police operation to ensure public safety. Attendees were encouraged to wear the national jersey and respect the venue, with officials pledging a “white‑score” (no incidents) outcome.
