Ramos Arizpe hosts soccer festival and charity drive on July 5

Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino invited families in Ramos Arizpe to the Ramos Soccer Fest on Sunday, July 5, starting at 5 p.m. in Alameda Miguel Ramos Arizpe. The event features giveaways, food sales and a giant screen showing the Mexican national team’s match against England, with the mayor saying, “Queremos que las familias hagan suya esta fiesta, que vengan con la playera de México y que juntos disfrutemos de una gran tarde.”

The Parish of Nuestra Señora de San Juan de los Lagos also called on residents to take part in a Day of Charity on the same day, collecting staple foods and household items for local families in need. Priest Guillermo Alvarado urged participation, stating, “Invitamos a todas las familias a vivir este día especial por la caridad con un gesto concreto de solidaridad.” Donations can be dropped off during the Sunday masses and will be distributed to vulnerable community members.
