Ramos Arizpe rolls out major sports upgrades and launches large Ramos Fest 2026

The municipal government of Ramos Arizpe announced a series of investments to boost local sports and tourism in 2026. A new Recreational and Sports Complex in the Estación Higo ejido was completed with a 2.62 million‑peso investment, adding a sports field, playgrounds, lighting and green areas. Similar upgrades were made in the rural community of San Gregorio, and direct financial support was provided to eleven local teams in football, pentathlon, cheerleading and other disciplines. The administration also revived the “Primer Tiempo” program that supplies free hydration to athletes during hot weather and introduced the Bravos de San Dieguito Ramos Arizpe baseball franchise in the northern league.

In parallel, officials presented the program for Ramos Fest 2026, a three‑day cultural and gastronomic event scheduled for 28–30 August. Organisers expect around 150 000 visitors – a 40 % increase over the previous edition – with free concerts, a Tamal and Pulque fair, an entrepreneurship expo, a Lechón cooking competition and a major horseback‑riding parade. The festival is promoted as a catalyst for local commerce, benefiting merchants, restaurateurs, producers and artisans while highlighting the town’s culinary, historical and paleontological heritage.
