Mexico and Argentina conduct emergency preparedness drills

Various regions in Mexico and Argentina conducted emergency preparedness exercises and educational sessions to strengthen civil protection cultures.

In Mexico, the Second National Drill 2026 involved massive participation. In Puebla, over 1.5 million people participated in a simulation based on a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hypothesis. In Manzanillo, ASIPONA Manzanillo coordinated earthquake and tsunami drills involving approximately 700 people. In Mexico City, the Benito Juárez borough saw over 40,000 participants evacuate commercial and residential areas.

In Argentina, the Municipality of Tigre conducted educational workshops for both public and private schools. These sessions, led by Civil Defense, focused on providing tools and prevention strategies to mitigate the potential impacts of the El Niño phenomenon.
