Ramos Arizpe mayor addresses drainage collapse and sinkholes

Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino has initiated an inspection of the Fidel Velázquez neighborhood in Ramos Arizpe following the collapse of an aging drainage system. The infrastructure failure has resulted in sinkholes reaching depths of up to one meter and cracks in residential properties.

The damage is attributed to the natural wear of decades-old pipes made of asbestos and concrete, exacerbated by the passage of heavy vehicles. Municipal crews are conducting inspections of the subsoil and sewage network to determine the necessary repairs and assess potential support for affected families.
