Ramos Arizpe officials implement water discounts and drug prevention programs

The municipal government of Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, has approved a new water payment scheme to assist local families and improve municipal resource management. Under the “Todos por Más, Agua al Corriente” program, the Compañía de Aguas de Ramos Arizpe (EMAS) will offer 50 percent discounts for residential users and 25 percent discounts for commercial users in categories A and B, provided payments are made in a single installment.

In a separate initiative, Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino and Coahuila Attorney General Federico Fernández Montañez met with local students to discuss the risks of drug consumption and illegal activities. The administration is focusing on youth prevention through the Municipal Police Social Proximity area and is currently constructing an addiction center to support rehabilitation efforts.

Additionally, the city council approved the decommissioning and public auction of unused or costly-to-maintain municipal vehicles to optimize public assets. The mayor also noted that the municipal police force has been strengthened with new equipment and the recent operation of a Control and Command Center (C2).
