Ramos Arizpe officials seek solution for La Encantada stream erosion
The municipal government of Ramos Arizpe, led by Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino, is coordinating with the National Water Commission (Conagua) to address issues regarding the La Encantada stream. The federal jurisdiction waterway has caused erosion and damage, particularly affecting the Analco sector during rainy seasons.
During a meeting with José Amador López Andrade, Conagua's liaison chief in Coahuila, officials reviewed the current state of the stream and identified areas requiring intervention. The Mayor emphasized the need for a permanent technical solution rather than temporary fixes, noting that the stream's changing trajectory has increased risks to nearby residential areas. The municipality plans to utilize technical studies to determine the necessary actions to properly channel the water and protect local families.
