Ramos Arizpe reports successful festival and projected job growth

The municipality of Ramos Arizpe, Mexico, reported a successful conclusion to the Ramos Fest 2026, which drew over 100,000 visitors across three days of cultural and gastronomic activities. Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino noted that the event concluded with no major incidents, attributing the safety record to coordinated prevention protocols and responsible citizen behavior. The festival generated an estimated economic impact of approximately 10 million pesos, attracting visitors from neighboring states such as Nuevo León, Zacatecas, and Durango.

In addition to the festival, the local government has been active in infrastructure and economic development. Throughout August, municipal crews conducted road maintenance and pothole repairs across various neighborhoods and industrial sectors to improve mobility.

Looking ahead to 2027, the municipal government projects the creation of more than 5,000 jobs driven by the expansion of eight companies currently in construction or expansion phases. Mayor Gutiérrez Merino highlighted the diversification of local industry to mitigate automotive sector fluctuations and emphasized the importance of dual education models to prepare youth for specialized roles.
