Ran Baas The Palace in Punjab named among world's most beautiful hotels

Ran Baas The Palace, a heritage hotel located within the historic Qila Mubarak in Patiala, Punjab, has been named one of the world’s 33 most beautiful hotels by Time Out. Ranked at number 17 on the publication’s 2026 list, the property was recognized for its seamless integration of restored artworks, traditional architecture, and contemporary design.

The palace, which once served as a royal residence and guesthouse for the women of the Patiala royal family, underwent an extensive restoration led by conservation architect Abha Narain Lambah. Following India’s independence, the site had remained uninhabited for decades. The restoration project was taken over by Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels in 2021, leading to the property opening to guests in 2024.
