Rana Sanaullah: Interior Minister to respond to Supreme Court contempt case
Rana Sanaullah, advisor to the Prime Minister on political affairs, stated that the Interior Minister, rather than the Law Minister, will respond to the contempt of court proceedings in the Supreme Court. The legal issue involves the relocation of a patient from one hospital to another due to security concerns, a matter Sanaullah asserts falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Interior.
Sanaullah also addressed ongoing political tensions, criticizing Jamaat-e-Islami's protests, which he claimed lack public support. He urged the party to end its demonstrations. Regarding the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he noted that while there are reservations, the government intends to engage with their leadership to resolve issues. Additionally, he commented on the debate regarding new provinces, suggesting that the matter should be discussed in Parliament rather than through public speeches to avoid further instability.
