Ranbir Kapoor apologizes for verbal slip during Dussehra event

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has issued a public apology following a verbal gaffe during a Dussehra celebration in Kolkata. While speaking at an event themed ‘Ram aur Ayodhya – Ram ki Ayodhya’, the actor intended to praise the triumph of righteousness but accidentally used the word ‘ant’ (end) instead of ‘jeet’ (victory). This resulted in a statement suggesting that truth and goodness would ultimately come to an end.

The mistake went viral on social media, drawing significant trolling from netizens, particularly because Kapoor is set to portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological epic, ‘Ramayana’.

Addressing the controversy the following day at a promotional event in Chennai, Kapoor clarified his intended message: ‘No matter how powerful evil may be, truth and goodness will ultimately triumph.’ To lighten the mood, he referenced his film ‘Rockstar’ and quoted lyrics from an A.R. Rahman composition, ‘Jo bhi main kehna chahoon, barbaad karein alfaaz mere’, to humorously acknowledge how his words had failed him.
