Ranbir Kapoor celebrates 44th birthday and ‘Ramayana’ preparation

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor celebrated his 44th birthday on September 28, marked by personal tributes from family and professional updates regarding his upcoming film, ‘Ramayana’. To coincide with his birthday, the makers of the upcoming two-part epic ‘Ramayana’ released a behind-the-scenes video titled ‘This is our Rama’. The footage highlights Kapoor’s physical and mental preparation for the role of Lord Rama, a character he described as a ‘responsibility’ rather than just a role. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, features a large cast including Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol.

Industry veterans, including filmmaker Subhash Ghai and actor Arun Govil, offered endorsements of Kapoor’s suitability for the role. The ‘Ramayana’ project is a large-scale production involving international action directors and a score by Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman, with the first part scheduled for release during Diwali 2026.
