Rancagua Fire Department robbed of water pipes and tools

A thief targeted the General Headquarters of the Fire Department in Rancagua, Chile, during the early hours of Friday, September 19. The perpetrator stole water pipes, tools, maintenance materials, and clothing, with total losses estimated at approximately 4 million pesos.

The theft of the water pipes caused a disruption in the water supply for several areas in the city center. Additionally, the thief forced open the station's gate, which allowed further unauthorized access to the premises.

Raúl Montecinos, the Superintendent of the Rancagua Fire Department, expressed deep indignation, describing the act as a “great lack of respect” given the free service the institution provides to the community. He noted that this is not an isolated incident, as several other stations in the city have also been victims of theft, including the loss of volunteer uniforms.
