Ranchi: Fire at Tata Motors service center and new protest regulations

A major fire broke out at an authorized Tata Motors service center, operated by Basudev Motor Company, in the Kokar Industrial Area of Ranchi. The blaze, which reportedly started due to a suspected short circuit, spread quickly through the workshop and open premises, damaging several vehicles and potentially destroying service equipment. Firefighters managed to bring the flames under control, and no casualties were reported.

Separately, the Ranchi district administration has implemented a new mandate requiring prior permission for organizing protests, rallies, processions, and public meetings. To maintain law and order and prevent traffic disruptions, organizers must now submit details regarding the date, time, proposed route, and expected number of participants to the Sub-Divisional Officer of Ranchi Sadar or Bundu. The administration emphasized that while peaceful protest is a constitutional right, public safety and movement must not be compromised.
