Ranchi liquor shop monkey drinks alcohol and falls asleep

A pregnant female monkey caused a stir at a liquor shop in the Ormanjhi area of Ranchi, Jharkhand, after entering the premises and consuming alcohol. According to reports, the monkey used its teeth to open a bottle and drank its contents before falling into a deep sleep on the shop floor and cardboard boxes.

During the incident, the monkey reportedly became aggressive and bit a 50-year-old shop employee, Ramashankar Tiwari, who was subsequently sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. The unusual event attracted a large crowd of onlookers, many of whom recorded the scene on their mobile phones.

A rescue team from the Bhagwan Birsa Biological Park arrived at the scene and spent approximately two and a half hours working to safely capture the animal. The monkey was successfully rescued and taken to the biological park for a health check before being released back into its natural habitat.
