Ranchi: Man shot and critically injured during liquor party dispute

A young man was critically injured during a shooting at a liquor party in the Manda Bagicha area of Ranchi’s Bariaitu police station jurisdiction late Sunday night. The victim, identified as Tony Lohra from the Ratu police station area, sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

The incident reportedly occurred around 2:00 AM following a dispute among a group of youths gathered for the party. Some reports suggest the altercation escalated over the manner in which drinks were being served. The gunfire caused panic in the area, and several individuals fled the scene.

Lohra was rushed to the RIMS Trauma Centre, where he remains in serious condition. Local police, including the Sadar DSP and Bariaitu station in-charge, visited the site to collect evidence and conduct an investigation. Authorities are currently working to identify the shooter and the other individuals present during the incident.
