Rancho Arriba hosts ninth national horseback ride
The ninth edition of the national horseback ride took place in Rancho Arriba, located in the San José de Ocoa province. The event featured more than 800 animals, including horses, mules, and donkeys.
Participants traveled from the Montaña Mágica area in Los Morones, navigating various terrains including hills, plains, rivers, and trails. The event organizer, businessman Franklin Joga, noted that the turnout included riders from both the Dominican Republic and the United States. Various horse breeds, such as Paso Fino and mestizo, were represented.
Joga reported that the event saw significant growth, doubling the number of participants and animals compared to the previous year. Local accommodations, including villas and rental houses, reached full capacity. Safety and logistical support were provided by the Civil Defense, Ciutran de Bani, Public Works road assistance, and 911 emergency services.
