Randall Scott releases book on mental endurance in tennis

Randall Scott, a former University of North Carolina men’s tennis player and current director of tennis for the City of Burlington, has released a book titled ‘The Inner Way of Tennis, Sport, and Life: Playing the Game from Inside Out.’

Drawing on 35 years of experience living and working across Asia, Scott incorporates philosophies from Zen, Taoism, and Buddhism into his coaching. He emphasizes mental endurance and the importance of being present, noting that the mental benefits of tennis can apply to life beyond the court. His approach focuses on helping athletes navigate personal struggles through awareness and managing attachment.
