Randers truck driver charged with manslaughter after fatal accident

A 61-year-old truck driver has been charged with manslaughter following a fatal accident in Randers. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in a roundabout on Hobrovej, where the driver struck a 15-year-old girl while she was riding her bicycle.

East Jutland Police reported that no alcohol or drugs were found in the driver's system. The driver is specifically charged with failing to yield the right of way and negligent manslaughter. The charge of negligent manslaughter can result in a fine or up to four months in prison.

Emergency services, including police, fire, and ambulance crews, responded to the scene, but the teenager could not be saved. A vehicle inspector has examined the site to assist in the investigation, and police have interviewed witnesses.
