Randstad research highlights differing labor priorities in Sweden and Denmark

According to the Randstad Employer Brand Research 2026, employees in Sweden and Denmark prioritize different factors when choosing an employer. While both groups value a good work environment, work-life balance, and competitive salaries, their specific focuses diverge significantly.

In Sweden, workers place a high premium on job security and equal opportunities. A pleasant work environment is cited as the most important factor, followed by work-life balance, salary, and benefits. Notably, 40 percent of Swedish employees emphasize an employer's economic and organizational stability as a key component of job security, a trend linked to higher domestic unemployment rates.

In contrast, Danish employees prioritize work-life balance as their top concern. They also place a higher importance on interesting work tasks compared to their Swedish counterparts, reflecting a labor market with more opportunities and greater ease of job mobility.
