Randy Pedersen, PBA Hall of Fame bowler and broadcaster, dies at 64

Randy Pedersen, a 13-time PBA Tour champion and prominent bowling broadcaster, has died at the age of 64. A Hall of Fame inductee, Pedersen was a dominant competitor from 1986 to 1995, notably winning the PBA National Championship in 1986. He became the PBA’s 24th millionaire following his 2002 Pepsi Open victory.

Pedersen transitioned into a highly successful second career in television, serving as an analyst for ESPN starting in 2001, and later for Fox Sports and CBS Sports Network. He was widely recognized for his ability to make the sport engaging for television audiences through his enthusiasm and expertise.

PBA Commissioner Tom Clark described Pedersen as a ‘force’ and a ‘giant in sports and on TV,’ noting his immense talent in bowling, broadcasting, and comedy. Tributes from colleagues and fans have highlighted his respect for fellow bowlers and his role in bringing the sport to a wider public.
