Range Rover Electric debuts with 600 km range and 550 hp
Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially unveiled the first-ever Range Rover Electric, marking a major milestone for the luxury SUV brand. Produced at the Solihull plant, the vehicle maintains the iconic design and proportions of the fifth-generation model while transitioning to a fully electric powertrain.
The SUV is equipped with twin permanent magnet electric motors producing up to 550 hp (405 kW) and 850 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds. It features a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery utilizing an 800-volt architecture, which supports rapid charging; a 10% to 80% charge can be completed in approximately 22 minutes. The vehicle offers a WLTP range of up to 600 km, with real-world estimates reaching around 535 km.
Despite the change in propulsion, JLR has prioritized maintaining the model’s signature off-road capabilities. The electric version is engineered to handle 45-degree slopes and water wading up to 90 cm. The interior focuses on a refined, quiet atmosphere, utilizing advanced software to manage traction and thermal efficiency through systems like ThermAssist and Integrated Traction Management.
