Range Rover launches first electric SUV model

Range Rover has introduced its first fully electric model, assembled at the JLR factory in Solihull, UK. The new electric SUV utilizes a dual-motor permanent-magnet powertrain that delivers up to 405 BHP (302 kW) and 850 Nm of torque.

The vehicle is equipped with a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 800-volt electrical architecture. It offers a maximum WLTP range of 600 km, with real-world driving estimates reaching up to 535 km. Charging capabilities include a 10 to 80 percent charge in approximately 22 minutes when using a compatible 350 kW DC rapid charger.

To maintain off-road performance, the SUV features Intelligent Driveline Dynamics and Integrated Traction Management, which can react to wheel-slip events in 50 milliseconds. The vehicle also includes a ThermAssist system to manage battery and cabin temperatures, aimed at improving range and energy efficiency.
