Range Rover Sport Electric unveiled with 550 hp and 609 km range

Jaguar Land Rover has unveiled the Range Rover Sport Electric, the first fully electric model in the Sport series. Built on the MLA-Flex modular platform with an 800-volt architecture, the SUV features dual 260 kW electric motors delivering a combined 405 kW (550 hp) and 850 Nm of torque. This performance allows the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in approximately 4.3 to 4.5 seconds, matching the capabilities of its V8 combustion counterparts.

The vehicle is equipped with a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a WLTP-rated range of up to 609 km. Rapid charging capabilities allow for a 10% to 80% charge in about 22 minutes, with 10 minutes of charging adding up to 220 km of range. To maintain the brand's driving identity, engineers developed a unique acoustic signature to complement the electric powertrain.

Structural improvements include a 61% increase in body rigidity and a center of gravity that is 73 mm lower than the plug-in hybrid version. Advanced chassis technologies, such as adaptive dynamics, all-wheel steering, and electronic active roll control, were tested in extreme environments, including the Carrara marble quarries in Italy and The Magarigawa Club in Japan. The model is expected to enter the European market in early 2027.
