Range Rover Sport Electric unveiled with 609km range
JLR has officially unveiled the Range Rover Sport Electric, the first fully electric model in the Sport lineup. Built on the 800-volt MLA-Flex architecture, the SUV features a 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery, providing a claimed WLTP range of up to 609 km.
The vehicle is powered by dual electric motors delivering up to 550 PS and 850 Nm of torque. This performance allows for a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in approximately 4.3 to 4.5 seconds, matching the capabilities of the existing V8 internal combustion models. The electric powertrain is designed for rapid charging, supporting up to 350 kW DC fast charging, which can replenish the battery from 10% to 80% in about 22 minutes.
Engineers have focused on enhancing driving dynamics, noting that the electric version features a body structure that is 61% stiffer and a center of gravity 73 mm lower than the plug-in hybrid variants. The model includes advanced technologies such as dynamic air suspension, all-wheel steering, and electronic active roll control.
In the UK, the Range Rover Sport Electric is available to order with prices starting from £109,810. It is expected to offer significant tax advantages for business users due to lower Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) rates compared to hybrid models.
