Rangers and Curicó Unido draw 0-0 in Clásico del Maule

In Chilean football, Rangers de Talca and Curicó Unido played to a 0-0 draw in the Clásico del Maule for the Primera B league. Despite Rangers dominating much of the match and Curicó Unido playing with ten men after Rodrigo Colombo's dismissal in the 62nd minute, neither side could find the net. The result leaves Rangers at the bottom of the table with 6 points and extends their winless streak to 19 matches. Rangers is scheduled to face Deportes Recoleta on August 12.

In the Primera División, Universidad de Chile secured a 2-1 victory over Palestino at the Estadio Nacional. The win keeps the team in second place, trailing leader Colo Colo by 12 points. Striker Eduardo Vargas continues a strong form, having reached 10 goals this season. Goalkeeper Gabriel Castellón noted that the team struggled in the second half, allowing Palestino to narrow the gap before securing the win.
