Rangers de Talca drop pursuit of Alejo Tello after contract block

Rangers de Talca explored signing Argentine goalkeeper Alejo Tello, brother of Curicó Unido’s keeper Damián Tello, as a replacement for José Luis Gamonal. Gamonal suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in a match against Deportes Copiapó and is expected to miss at least six months, leaving the club with only Cristian Campestrini as an option for the remaining 14 fixtures.

Alejo Tello, 26, is under contract with Argentino de Merlo, which prevented Rangers from completing the transfer. With the deal off the table, Rangers will continue with Campestrini while preparing for the upcoming Clásico del Maule against Curicó Unido on 9 August.
