Rangers fans banned from stadiums after flare incident in Chile

Two supporters of Chilean club Rangers were formally charged after they were caught lighting and handling flares during the Copa Chile match against Universidad de Concepción at the Estadio Bicentenario Fiscal Iván Azócar in Talca. Prosecutor José Manuel Varela filed the case, citing violations of regulations that forbid explosive or dangerous items at mass events. A judge approved precautionary measures that include a nationwide ban on attending any stadium, a travel restriction out of the country, and additional limits under the Law on Violence in Stadiums. The fans remain free while the investigation continues. The incident came as Rangers celebrated a 2‑1 victory that placed them atop Group F of the Copa Chile 2026.
