Rangers FC shifts to private limited company structure under new ownership

Following the takeover by 49ers Enterprises in June 2025, Rangers FC has transitioned from a public limited company (PLC) to a private limited company (Ltd). This structural change means the club is no longer required to hold Annual General Meetings (AGMs), a mechanism previously used by shareholders to influence directors and club operations.

While the shift reduces the formal voting rights and agency previously held by fans, Chairman Andrew Cavenagh and Vice Chairman Paraag Marathe have maintained engagement through official forums. Cavenagh recently participated in a fan forum with approximately 20 supporters to gather feedback and address concerns.

Reports indicate that Cavenagh has demonstrated a level of transparency and accessibility noted as being different from previous regimes. This includes engaging with supporters at away matches and participating in discussions regarding the club's state and future transfer plans.
