Rangers football club hit by player sentencing and loan amid historic league slump

Rangers de Talca, currently last in Chile's Primera B with only three points from 15 matches, saw striker José Navarrete sentenced to 18 months in prison for possession of falsified documents after a prior 541‑day term for vehicle‑related offenses. The club, struggling in its worst campaign, also announced the loan of forward José Tomás Herrera, who scored 17 goals for General Velásquez last season, with a possible destination at Provincial Osorno in the Segunda División. Rangers' next fixtures include a Copa Chile tie against Universidad de Concepción on 20 June and a league match versus Ñublense the following week.
