Rangers International prepares NPFL title defence

Rangers International, the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, are preparing to begin their title defence against Katsina United. Due to ongoing renovations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu, the club will play its home matches, including the season opener, at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta. This temporary relocation will also apply to their CAF Champions League fixtures.

In recent pre-season activity, Rangers secured the 2026 NPFL Invitational trophy by defeating Plateau United 1-0 in the final held at New Jos Stadium. Justice Akugre scored the decisive header in the 28th minute. The victory serves as a momentum builder for the Enugu-based club as they transition into the new domestic campaign and continental competitions.
