Rangers secure narrow 1-0 win over Jablonec in Conference League playoff

Rangers secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Czech side FK Jablonec in the first leg of their UEFA Conference League playoff at Ibrox Stadium. Ryan Naderi scored the decisive goal in the 50th minute following a cross from Daisuke Yokota. The match was marked by a late red card for Rangers substitute Cammy Devlin, who was sent off in the 78th minute for a high tackle on Jiri Slama, forcing the Scottish side to defend their lead with ten men.

Despite the win, the performance drew criticism regarding a lack of attacking creativity and cohesion. Rangers manager Derek McInnes expressed a desire to see more service for Naderi and noted the club's priority to secure attacking reinforcements before the transfer window closes. McInnes also addressed the form of defender Emmanuel Fernandez, emphasizing the need for increased concentration and collective improvement following recent defensive struggles.

On a positive note, defender Olwethu Makhanya earned Man of the Match honors for a composed defensive display, completing 87 of 89 passes. Rangers hold a slim advantage heading into the second leg in the Czech Republic.
