Ivo Basay Leads Rangers de Talca in Crucial Primera B Match

Former international striker Ivo Basay has been appointed head coach of Rangers de Talca, taking over a struggling side that sits bottom of Chile's Primera B with just three points. His debut comes on Sunday against Cobreloa at the Estadio Zorros del Desierto in Calama, a match the club hopes will spark a turnaround.

Basay has already overseen intensified training sessions and announced the club's first signing for the second half of the season: midfielder Iván Rozas, who leaves Deportes Antofagasta. He also indicated that a striker and a defender are being targeted to bolster the squad.

Several players are returning to the roster—forward Cristóbal Muñoz and defender Sebastián Acuña—while Kevin Vásquez sits out after accumulating a suspension and other squad members remain injured. Basay stressed the need for immediate competitiveness, stating that new signings must be ready to play within a week.
