Ranipet: Masked man caught attempting to rob locked house
A youth named Rajkumar was apprehended after allegedly attempting to rob a locked residence in the Kollaimaedu area of Varagoorpatti, near Timiri in the Ranipet district of Tamil Nadu.
The homeowner, 74-year-old farmer Masilamani, had left the house to attend a wedding. Neighbors alerted the owner to noises coming from the property, prompting his nephew, Srinivasan, to investigate. Upon arriving, Srinivasan discovered a broken door and caught a masked man wearing gloves attempting to open cupboards.
Following the confrontation, the Timiri police took Rajkumar into custody. Masilamani has filed a formal complaint, reporting that Rs 5 lakh in cash and two sovereigns of gold jewellery were missing from the premises. CCTV footage reportedly shows the suspect entering the home while masked.
