Ranko Radović exhibition opens in Banja Luka
An exhibition titled ‘Ranko Radović. Sutjeska’, curated by Dr. Maja Đilas, has opened at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy at the University of Banja Luka. The exhibition commemorates the 90th anniversary of the birth of Ranko Radović, one of the most significant architects of the former Yugoslavia.
The display provides an integral overview of the Sutjeska Battle Memorial House at Tjentište, a landmark of Yugoslav monumental architecture. The project traces the long development of the site, which was designed between 1964 and 1968 and completed in 1974. The exhibition features 74 documents spanning from 1961 to 2011, including original plans, models, construction photographs, and professional texts.
Materials sourced from archives in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia are presented, including some film and photographic records being shown to the public for the first time. The exhibition explores how architecture, sculpture, and painting integrated with the natural landscape of Sutjeska National Park to create a unified artistic whole.
