Rans Simba Bogor highlights sustainability challenges in IBL

The management of Rans Simba Bogor has highlighted significant financial challenges facing professional basketball clubs in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL). Co-owner Norman noted that clubs face continuous operational costs, including player salaries, throughout the entire year, despite the competition only lasting a few months.

Norman reported that Rans Simba Bogor spends approximately Rp15 billion per season. While the club achieved thin profits in 2026, he emphasized that the current league structure makes it difficult to optimize resources. To improve sustainability, he proposed increasing the number of matches per season to make club investments more productive and suggested the possibility of implementing salary caps.
