Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes reportedly held unlawfully in care homes

Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the renowned British explorer, has reportedly been ‘unlawfully deprived of his liberty’ while residing in care homes. Investigations and reports from The Telegraph indicate that his wife, Louise Millington-Cotes, has moved him through various facilities under false identities and imposed strict secrecy protocols.

Concerns were raised by a care home owner in Wales, who alerted authorities and the police regarding Fiennes' wellbeing and unusual medical arrangements, including a questionable ‘do not resuscitate’ order. The explorer, who is 82 and living with Parkinson’s, has not been seen in public for nearly two years.

To maintain his anonymity, his wife reportedly required visitors to sign non-disclosure agreements and insisted he wear hats, sunglasses, and gloves during walks to conceal his identity and amputated hands. The legal dispute over his care and guardianship has drawn attention from his military and expedition colleagues, as well as King Charles III.
