Ranveer Singh’s father challenges Rs 45 crore Don 3 dispute via IMPPA
Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, father of actor Ranveer Singh, has approached the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) to challenge a Rs 45 crore damages claim filed by Excel Entertainment. The dispute stems from Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from the film Don 3, directed by Farhan Akhtar.
Excel Entertainment alleges that the actor’s departure, occurring close to the planned shoot, resulted in significant financial losses related to pre-production. Bhavnani has submitted documents to IMPPA representatives to present the actor's side of the matter. The association’s legal team is currently reviewing the submitted materials to determine the next course of action and whether the conflict can be resolved through the industry body.
The controversy previously involved the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which issued a non-cooperation directive against Singh in May 2026. That directive was later withdrawn in June 2026 following interventions from multiple industry associations, including the Producers Guild of India and the Cine & TV Artistes Association (CINTAA).
